Trump's company took $284,398 to run an Indonesian tycoon's golf club, opened a month after regulators halted the wider resort

Trump International Golf Club Lido opened on March 7, 2025, a month after Indonesia ordered the wider resort halted. Trump's 2025 disclosure shows his company was paid $284,398 in fees to manage the course for Hary Tanoesoedibjo's MNC Land.

What happened

Tanoesoedibjo, whom the Jakarta Post calls a "tycoon and politician", told Reuters in 2017 he signed a management deal with the Trump Organization in 2015, and attended Trump's inauguration in January 2025. Trump's 2025 financial disclosure shows DT Lido Golf Manager LLC took $284,398 in fees from the licensee, PT Lido Nirwana Parahyangan; the Lido brand licence, DT Marks Lido LLC, reported income of none or less than $201. The club sits inside the MNC Lido City Special Economic Zone, whose tax privileges extend to the Trump-branded properties there, CREW reported when Indonesia granted the status in 2021. On February 6, 2025, Indonesia's environment ministry ordered MNC Land to halt the Lido development, saying mismanaged rainwater had halved Lido lake to 12 hectares and that the company had not followed its approved environmental plan. MNC Land denied the allegations, saying the sedimentation predates its 2013 purchase of the site. The filing's foreign licence fees and its two foreign golf-management fees (Dubai $1,254,744 and Lido $284,398) total $61,057,251 — the $61 million Forbes reports as 2025 foreign licensing income on money-2026-07-08-097, across "10 foreign countries": the licence fees cover nine, and Indonesia is the tenth only through this management fee. So this payment sits inside a counted aggregate. Front Office Sports itemises the same two management fees inside the $394,808,813 golf total, stating it to the dollar, so on John's ruling of 2026-09-13 the golf row money-2026-06-30-081 holds the count and money-2026-07-08-097 now carries the licence fees alone.

Why it matters

The president's business is paid to run the golf club at a resort an Indonesian tycoon and politician is building, inside a special economic zone whose tax cuts reach the Trump-branded properties. In October 2025, Indonesia's president Prabowo Subianto was caught on a live microphone asking Trump if he could meet Eric Trump, who runs the business; Trump replied, "I'll have Eric call you." Eric Trump told CNN the exchange concerned his Indonesian projects, and said they predate his father's candidacy and have no connection to politics.
