Trump's company launches a golf resort inside Saudi Arabia's $63.2bn Diriyah project

On January 11, 2026, Dar Global and the Trump Organization launched a Trump-branded golf course, hotel and residences at Wadi Safar in Diriyah, outside Riyadh. Dar Global's chief executive put this project and Trump Plaza Jeddah at $10 billion combined.

What happened

The Wadi Safar site spans 2.6 million square metres inside the $63.2 billion Diriyah masterplan, which Diriyah Company is developing, and it is the Trump Organisation's first venture there. Dar Global is the London-listed international arm of Saudi developer Dar Al Arkan. Eric Trump said the work should be finished in four to five years. Trump's 2025 financial disclosure lists a Diriyah hotel-management company whose licensee is Dar Global, reporting income of none or less than $201, and $9,243,574.15 in Saudi licence fees paid to DT Marks KSA LLC by Dar Al Arkan Properties; the filing does not split those fees by project. The $10 billion is the two projects' combined development value, not money to the family; Trump Plaza Jeddah is its own receipt, money-2025-09-29-053.

Why it matters

Dar Global is a subsidiary of a Saudi developer with close ties to the Saudi government, and it pays a Trump licensing company. Trump toured the Diriyah site in May during his visit to the kingdom, and met the Saudi crown prince again at the White House in November. The kingdom is opening property ownership to foreigners for the first time in designated areas. Trump has denied benefiting from his family's deals.
